On this day August 28, 1868 the second death occurs in the Thorsted family.

Lauritz Thorsted dies from sickness he caught on board the Emerald Isle. He was buried in the New York City cemetery possibly on Ward’s Island where the hospital was. Lauritz was born, February 15, 1863 in Snedsted, Denmark. He was the 11th child of Jens & Ane Thorsted.
